Studio The Chinese Room confirmed the PC versions of its recently released survival horror title did not share the same features across all platforms. While Still Wakes the Deep is part of the Xbox Game Pass library, subscribers noticed their PC copies of the game lacked several upscaling and super-resolution options that were included for the Epic Games and Steam versions.
For context, Still Wakes the Deep is a first-person psychological horror game developed by The Chinese Room, known for its work on Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture and Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. The story is set in 1975 and takes place on an offshore oil rig in the North Sea. Players are put into the shoes of Cameron McLeary, an unfortunate electrician who is stranded on the rig alongside a mysterious monster. The Chinese Room developer also notably implied that there were currently no plans to add more upscaling options but promised the studio would inform players if a solution was discovered.
