The Massive Buffs Players Asked For


Helldivers 2 has heard players complaining that they’ve felt too weak for a long while now, and a huge new patch his just rolled out to try and solve those issues. This includes loads of buffs to stratagems and weapons and also enemy nerfs.

Here are the highlights of the patch, though if you want every detail you can head over to the full, very long list over here.

STRATEGEM BUFFS

  • Rocket Sentry – Lower spread, increased target distance, better ammo economy, increased explosion radius, increased projectile damage (small nerf: decreased explosion armor penetration)
  • Machin Gun Sentry – Reduced cooldown
  • All Sentries – Increased durability
  • HMG emplacement – Increased rotation speed
  • Anti-Personnel Minefield – Increased explosion damage
  • Incendiary Mines – Increased explosion damage
  • Orbital Gatling – Increased fire rate, increased rounds per salvo, increased armor penetration, decreased cooldown
  • Orbital Precision Strike – Decreased cooldown, decreased call-in time
  • Orbit Airburst Strike – Decreased cooldown
  • Eagle Rocket Pods – Improved target, improved armor penetration, decreased projectile damage and explosion penetration
  • Eagle Strafing Run – Increased uses, increased armor penetration
  • Grenade Launcher – Increased explosion damage
  • Heavy Machine Gun – Increased projectile damage, decreased fire rate, decreased reload time, increased stagger strength
  • Machine Gun – Decreased reload time, increased max magazines

WEAPON BUFFS

  • Liberator, Liberator Concussive, Stalwart, Guard Dog – Increased damage against durable body parts
  • Adjudicator – Increased magazine capacity, increased damage against durable body parts
  • Tenderize – Increased damage and damage against durable body parts, decrease ammo capacity, decreased magazine, increased stagger strength
  • Purifier – Increased projectile armor penetration, decreased explosion damage falloff
  • Explosive Crossbow – Increased projectile armor penetration, increased demolition strength
  • Eruptor – Increased damage per shot
  • Diligence – Increased damage against durable body parts

HAZARD NERFS

  • Spike plant – no longer causes bleed or stamina drain, but deals increased damage
  • Fire Tornados – No longer tracks player, reduces enemy vision, not players’
  • Tremors – Less spawning near players, more spawning near enemies

ENEMY NERFS

  • Acid – Lets you sprint and slows you less
  • Armored Enemies – Toned down amount of heavily armored enemies in higher difficulty missions
  • Patrols – Back to pre-patch functionality in terms of group size/appearance
  • Bile and Nursing Spewers – Get slowed if they lose their legs, reduced instances of players being instantly killed by puke
  • Bile Titan – Head less durable, reduced instances of players being killed quickly by puke, though it now has a larger spread
  • Charger Behemoth – Can take more damage than before
  • Chargers – Only show bleedout effects from the body if the bleedout state has started
  • Hulk Scorcher – Flamethrower does less damage and less frequent instant kills
  • Automaton Tanks – Lower armor in the front, damage of exploding automaton jump packs decreased

It’s not everything, but it’s a lot of major updates and they are 99% in favor of the player. Hopefully this is what everyone wants to see and it will re-engage them with the game, which has continually seen dropoff since its highs.
