The Gayming Awards 2024 airs on June 25, honors icons and rising stars

The Gayming Awards announced today that it will air its 2024 event on June 25 as part of IGN’s Summer of Gaming event. The 2024 event, which will be produced by Nathan Noyes and Ian Devoglaer, features the Gayming Icon Award and the LGBTQ Streamer Rising Star Class of 2024 in addition to the main awards. Its sponsors include TikTok, Devolver Digital and Logitech G, with supporters including Humble Games, Zynga, Out Making Games, Qweerty Games and NYC Gaymers. It airs on IGN’s livestreaming channels, as well as Gayming Magazine’s Twitch, YouTube and TikTok channels.

This year, the Gayming Icon Award goes to Dungeons & Dragons lead rules designer Jeremy Crawford. As part of his work at Wizards of the Coast, Crawford designed the 2024 Player’s Handbook, contributed to the design of other sourcebook and co-authored other D&D books. In addition to the Icon Award, the Rising Star Class honors up-and-coming queer content creators. The 2024 Class includes Devoglaer, PearlTeese, SimplyAretha, Sukar Baba, and sinarynn. All of the streamers receive a prize package from Logitech.

Robin Gray, the Gayming Awards creator, said in a statement, “Despite the challenges that 2024 has presented to us and to the wider games industry, I’m thrilled we can finally announce the winners of the Gayming Awards 2024! I’m also honored to be able to celebrate our Gayming Icon 2024, Jeremy Crawford. He has done amazing work at Wizards of the Coast over the years to promote LGBTQ inclusion in Dungeons & Dragons and the fact it is D&D’s 50th anniversary makes it extra special. I’m also delighted to reveal and celebrate our Rising Star Class of awesome streamers whose stars are on the rise.”
