Homelander has cool Easter egg when performing Brutality against one character in particular in Mortal Kombat 1

NetherRealm Studios certainly likes to go in hard when bringing guest characters into Mortal Kombat to give fans a lot to pick up on references and cute tie-ins to connect the universes.

Homelander just launched as the latest DLC fighter in Mortal Kombat 1 with quite a few references to The Boys, but there’s probably one you haven’t seen yet because it only happens against one character in particular.

Players quickly discovered an Easter egg for Homelander when he finishes off Kenshi with one of his Brutalities, and you might be able to guess which one now if you’ve watched the show.

Performing the What Happens If? Brutality where he claps both sides of Kenshi’s head will have Homelander say the line “Another useless ****ing blind guy.”

Minor spoilers for the first episode of The Boys Season 2 episode 1 ahead.

This is all a direct reference to when the maniac hero is introduced to Blindspot as the new member of The Seven, who is of course blind with super hearing similar to Marvel’s Daredevil, but Homelander isn’t keen on having a “cripple” on his elite squad.

So he simply walks up and crushes Blindspot’s ears on the spot and says the same line mentioned above with the Brutality name itself also being pulled from this scene.

Kenshi is of course also a blind fighter with incredible talents, so it’s a bit of an obvious but still fun pull to include in the game that not many people would probably see naturally while playing.

There was another discovery with the arrival of the new DLC, however, that wasn’t quite as fun since players quickly found an apparent infinite blockstring with Homelander that’s super easy to pull off.

As for future guest fighters, it seems some new voice lines may have been data mined to imply another horror icon is on the way in a future Kombat Pack too.
